Fagerland inks commitment to Concordia College

Shiloh Christian’s Canaan Fagerland has inked his commitment to play baseball for the Concordia Cobbers next year.

Fagerland is coming off an impressive junior baseball season; during which, he batted .449 and had a staggering .821 slugging percentage. He was also impressive on the mound, striking out 38 batters in 39 innings pitched, while carrying a 1.61 ERA.

Fagerland will join a Concordia program that is led by Chris Coste. The Fargo baseball legend has helped steer the Cobbers to an 86-65 record during his tenure.

With Fagerland, the Cobbers add one of the top multi-sport athletes in the North Dakota.

The senior standout recently wrapped up a highly decorated prep football career for the Skyhawks. Fagerland amassed over 6,000 yards from scrimmage and 77 touchdowns during his career. He was named to the North Dakota All-State team (first team) this fall.

Fagerland also excels in the classroom. He plans to study pre-med and felt Concordia ticked off all of the boxes, “It ultimately came down to what I felt was the best fit for me”, said Fagerland. “I can get a great pre-med education and still be able to play baseball at a competitive, high-level.”
