Mandan – The Shiloh Christian Skyhawks (4-2) cruised past the New Salem Holsteins (4-2) 65-40 to claim the Mandan Holiday Basketball Tournament title.
Jaden Mitzel scored a tournament-record 37 points to lead the Skyhawks. The junior was an incredible 16-20 from the field, including a perfect 3-3 from behind the arc. Mitzel also dished out a game-high 11 assists.
The Skyhawks shot a blistering 73% from the field in the second half. Shiloh also dominated the glass, out rebounding the Holsteins 31-13.
Junior Taydin Soupir paced the Holsteins with 19 points.
Mitzel and senior Matthew Reep were named to the All-Tournament team.
The Skyhawks will be back in action on January 4th when they host the Oak Grove Grovers.
